14.10.2008 - New Zealand secure series victory

Third one-day international, Chittagong:
New Zealand 249-7 bt Bangladesh 170-8 by 79 runs
Match scorecard

New Zealand beat Bangladesh by 79 runs in their third and final one-day international to clinch the series 2-1.
Ross Taylor's 103 from 119 balls, with Jamie How (73) in support, was the highlight of an otherwise unconvincing batting display by the Black Caps.

In reply to the visitors' 249-7, Tamim Iqbal offered hope with a brisk 35, but the opener was one of four batsmen to fall in the space of 10 runs.
Naeem Islam (46no) was the only other home batsman to show some resistance.
Bangladesh's young line-up were always going to find it difficult to reach the 250-run target, and hopes of a first series win against a Test-playing nation other than Zimbabwe effectively ended when the home side were reduced to 59-5 in the 17th over.
Kyle Mills (2-24) struck first to claim Junaid Siddiqui's wicket in the third over and then Jacob Oram (2-16) sparked the collapse by dismissing Imrul Kayes (12).
Mashrafe bin Mortaza (9) was dismissed by Mills, and Jeetan Patel (2-29) ensured Iqbal and Shakib al Hasan (1) quickly followed, with Oram then bowling Mohammad Ashraful for eight.
Earlier, Taylor's swashbuckling 125-run partnership with How revived the New Zealand innings after they had slipped to 13-2.
The 24-year-old hit four sixes and five boundaries before he was the last to fall, caught behind off Mortaza (2-50) with the total at 219-7.
Daniel Vettori (19) and Mills (18) were unbeaten at the end to guide the visitors home.
