Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko has dissolved parliament and called for new elections.
The Ukrainian leader made the announcement in a nationally televised address and it comes after the collapse of the pro-Western government last month. Yushchenko's party pulled out of the government after months of political infighting with Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, who is seeking a reduction in the powers of the president. It will be Ukraine's third general election in three years.
