Germany's Deutsche Telekom says that personal information of some 17 million of its mobile phone customers has been stolen.
A Deutsche Telekom spokesperson was quoted as saying that data belonging to customers of its T-Mobile unit was stolen early in 2006. The company said it had immediately reported the theft to state prosecutors in the city of Bonn as well as federal investigators.
