29.09.2008 - Beyonce to perform at UK MTV show

R&B star Beyonce is to launch her third album with a performance at the MTV Europe Music Awards in Liverpool, organisers have announced.
The singer, whose last album, B'Day, spawned hits like Irreplaceable and Beautiful Liar, is also nominated for a prize in the ultimate urban category.

Amy Winehouse and Leona Lewis will go head-to-head for the act of the year award at the ceremony on 6 November.
Ms Spears, Coldplay and Rihanna are also in the running for the prize.

'Best act ever'
Katy Perry's controversial number one I Kissed A Girl is among the songs shortlisted for the most addictive track prize.
It goes up against Coldplay's string-drenched anthem Viva La Vida and the soulful pop of Duffy's Mercy.
Other nominees are Kid Rock's 21st century interpretation of Sweet Home Alabama, All Summer Long, and Pink's hook-laden So What.
Other categories include best rock act, best new act and the headliner prize for live music.
There is also a shortlist of 40 artists for the best act ever award - with frontrunners including the Beatles, Madonna and Take That.
Music fans have until Sunday, November 2, to vote for their favourites by visiting the MTV Europe Music Awards website.
So far, Beyonce is the only performer confirmed for the show, which will take place in Liverpool's Echo Arena.
The 27-year-old will take to the stage a week ahead of the release of her third album - which has yet to receive a title.
The act is likely to feature her two new singles, If I Were A Boy and Single Ladies, which are released simultaneously in October.
Richard Godfrey, senior vice president of MTV, said Beyonce would "wow the audience with what promises to be a show-stopping performance".
"I am confident that when we reveal the final acts to perform, the bill will live up to our promise that the MTV Europe Music Awards will absolutely be the best gig in Europe this year."
