A powerful typhoon has hit southern China's heavily populated Guangdong province.
Typhoon Hagupit was downgraded to a category three storm after making landfall in the city of Maoming. Coastal areas have been evacuated and more than 100,000 people moved to safer ground. Earlier, the storm passed Hong Kong, uprooting trees and causing dozens of injuries. Flights were also disrupted.
