Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has called on Germany to rethink its Baltic Sea pipeline project with Russia.
Referring to a plan by a Russian-German consortium to build a 1,200-kilometre pipeline to supply the European Union with natural gas from Russian energy giant Gazprom, Tusk warned that Europe should not let the project increase its dependency on Russia. In an interview in Saturday's Neuen Osnabruecker Zeitung, Tusk said European politician's had to consider whether such a deal is still sensible after Russia's military occupation of parts of Georgia.
