Police in Nepal have broken up a protest by Tibetan exiles in front of the Chinese embassy in Kathmandu.
Police detained at least 400 people who had ignored a government ban on protests in the area. An official said the demonstrators have been taken to several detention centres and were expected to be released later in the day. Tibetan exiles in both Nepal and India have been staging protests to show their support for an uprising that erupted in Tibet's capital earlier this year.
