Tibetan exiles in India and Nepal have held anti-China protests on the eve of the Beijing Olympics, saying the occasion was an opportunity for the world to recognise their plight.

Dalai Lama meets German minister ... Lama. In the northern town of Dharamsala, where the the Dalai Lama and his government-in-exile are based, some 2,000 Tibetans demonstrated against China. In Nepal, hundreds of Tibetans were detained after they clashed with police while protesting in Kathmandu.
