A US Guantanamo jury finds Bin Laden driver guilty ...
Piracy watchdog calls for greater international cooperation ... military jury has convicted the former driver of Osama Bin Laden on terrorism charges.
The jury found Salim Hamdan guilty of providing material support for terrorism, but acquitted him on the more serious charge of conspiring with the al-Qaeda terror network to commit war crimes. The verdict is the first to be handed down in a full war crimes tribunal at the US prison camp at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. The White House has described the trial as fair, but Hamdan's defence team have said they will appeal the verdict. The human rights group Amnesty International has described the US military commission system as fundamentally flawed and has called for the tribunals to be abandoned.
