Some Czech Communists want to radically change party policy - MP ... Zuma, the leader of South Africa's ruling African National Congress party, has appeared in court to push for the dismissal of a graft case that could wreck his chances of becoming the nation's president next year.
The 66-year old denies accusations of corruption, racketeering and money-laundering and of accepting hundreds of thousands of dollars from a French arms firm. Thousands of Zuma's supporters rallied outside the court building in the city of Pietermaritzburg where the trial is being held. A long trial means Zuma's case could overlap with general elections in 2009 which polls predict the popular politician is almost certain to win.
