Havlicek, chief election manager of the CSSD, who also criticised Slouf for his statements that dozens of CSSD deputies are dissatisfied with the party leadership. The UKK has established a five-member group that will assess Havlicek's complaint and Slouf's defence.
The group is headed by UKK chairman Martin Starec, Slouf told journalists after the commission meeting. The commission asked both parties in the disputes not to comment on the case to the media until it is resolved. Slouf said he firmly believed that he had convinced at least half of the commission members with his explanation. He said he had always reacted to what CSSD chairman Jiri Paroubek said about him in the media because he had never had an opportunity to defend himself in the party. In a letter that Havlicek handed to the UKK today he listed all Slouf's mistakes and statements made in the media about Klaus and Jan Svejnar who was officially supported by the CSSD as presidential candidate in February. In the letter that CTK has obtained Havlicek demands that the UKK decide whether Slouf's behaviour was in harmony with the party's rules and whether he harmed the interests of the Social Democratic Party and its members. Slouf, a former member of the Czechoslovak Communist Party (KSC) and lobbyist, is an ardent supporter of former CSSD long-serving chairman and former PM Milos Zeman. He said during the presidential election campaign that up to 15 CSSD deputies were dissatisfied with the situation in their deputies' group and with the party leadership led by Paroubek.
