NATO says bomb blasts have killed five of its soldiers in Afghanistan.
The NATO-led International Security Force did not release the nationalities of the soldiers, who were killed in eastern provinces near the border with Pakistan. The new deaths bring to 149 the number of mostly Western soldiers to die in Afghanistan this year, mainly in attacks by Taliban insurgents. Over the past three months, more foreign troops have died in Afghanistan than Iraq.
