German doctors have carried out what they say is the world's first transplant of two complete arms.
The medical director of the Munich University Clinic said a medical team spent 15 hours attaching donor arms to a farmer whose own arms had been severed just below the shoulder in an accident six years ago. He said the 54-year-old patient was recovering well from the operation, which took place on July 25 and 26.
