I will take the case to a court and will seek to prove that I never cooperated deliberately. I am absolutely sure that everything will end well for me," Baros said. He pointed to his clean lustration certificate from 1994. Bartos said his name could appear in the VKR registration protocols because as a conscript he did his national service with the strategic rocket forces that were subject of strict monitoring from the communist regime. Apart from Bartos and Raninec, ODS deputy Tomas Hasil and deputy Pavel Ploc (senior opposition Social Democrats, CSSD) are in the registration files, the public Czech Television (CT) and the commercial television station Nova reported on Monday. The database contains 309 registration files on about 140,000 people. All of them said on Monday that they had never signed up any collaboration with the VKR and that they were considering filing a legal complaint. Raninec who is on holiday abroad also denied the allegations today. "I have never said anything bad about anyone. I have not reported on anyone and I certainly was not an informer. This is absolute nonsense," he told CTK. Like Bartos, Raninec also said that he had a negative lustration certificate. "If anything negative against me appeared in the archives I would certainly protest against it in a legal way," he said. He said he could not explain why he features in the VKR files. He said he could appear there due to his contacts with the people from the underground Catholic church. Ploc, a former ski jumping champion, said on Monday that due to their trips abroad both him and his counterparts from the army club Dukla Liberec had been under a constant watch of the VKR. He denied any conscious collaboration, as did Hasil. It was found earlier that VKR had in its files Evzen Snitily, a former Social Democrat deputy who deserted the party, and Senator Milan Spacek (the Christian Democrats, KDU-CSL). In their cases, a court has decided that it was deliberate collaboration.
