In the Uruzgan Province, 63 members of the chemical warfare unit from Liberec, north Bohemia, help guard the local Dutch base. The Czech military is also preparing sending an elite combat unit from Prostejov to Afghanistan. They have been guarding the Kabul airport since March 2007. The personnel is replaced once in four months. The Czech field hospital includes international health teams from Slovakia, Albania, Macedonia and Croatia. The two Czech units provide health services mainly to NATO troops. They also help educate the health personnel of the Afghan military and security forces. The Czech field hospital will end its mission in Kabul at the end of November. Picek and Kubat were accompanied by Dominik Duka, bishop of Hradec Kralove, East Bohemia. Duka is the first non-military clergyman to have set out on such a trip. Duka visited the field hospital and served a mass in the local military chapel in the evening.
