The ruling Cambodian People's Party of Prime Minister Hun Sen has claimed victory in Sunday's general elections.
A CPP spokesman told reporters in Phnom Penh that the party was on course to win 80 of the 123 seats in parliament. Official results are not expected for days. The CPP had been widely expected to win thanks to near double-digit economic growth over the last five years. Hun Sen gained extra support from an ongoing nationalist spat with neighbouring Thailand over a 900-year-old temple on their border.
