Indian investigators are searching for the culprits of a co-ordinated series of bombings in the city of Ahmedabad which killed 38 people and injured scores more.
Indian media say a little-known Islamist group calling itself the "Indian Mujahedeen" has claimed responsibility for the attacks, which saw 16 bombs go off on Saturday evening in several neighbourhoods. Ahmedabad, the main city in the state of Gujarat, was the scene of deadly riots in 2002, in which thousands were killed in Hindu attacks against Muslims. On Friday, seven small explosions hit the southern city of Bangalore, killing two people.
