Macedonia's opposition party, the Social Democratic Union, has walked out of parliament in protest at the arrest of its deputy leader. Zoran Zaev, the mayor of the south-eastern town of Strumica, has been arrested along with four other people in connection with a corruption investigation.
Announcing its boycott of the parliament, the Social Democrats countered that the incoming government of prime minister designate Nikola Gruevski was behind the legal action.
