The police suspect Kula and his former deputy Zdenek Kreuzzieger of having stripped the state of almost 20 million crowns in connection with an order for mobile telephone jammers in prisons. Valsamisova said the start of the criminal proceedings was not sufficiently justified, and that the case is now returning to the anti-corruption police for further investigation. Justice Minister Jiri Pospisil suspended Kula last Friday on the basis of the police information. Kreuzzieger resigned previously from the post of Kula's deputy over the dubious order. He said he only signed a contract prepared by his subordinates. He refused to resign by himself when he was accused and he took holiday. Since his suspension the Prison Service has been directed by his relevant deputies. (USD1=14.617 crowns)
