Over 40 leaders from Europe, the Middle East and Africa are meeting in Paris for a summit to launch the Mediterranean Union.
The new body is to represent some 750 million people and is to be endorsed at the Grand Palais, a glass-roofed hall built for the Paris Exhibition of 1900.
