Relations between North and South Korea continue to worsen after the killing N Korea 'to deliver nuclear data' ...
Man flees N Korea after 33 years ... of a South Korean tourist by a North Korean soldier on Friday.
The woman was gunned down when she apparently wandered into a North Korean military area near to a tourist resort, just a few kilometres north of the heavily fortified border. The South said the killing was "unimaginable" and should never have happened. A North Korean spokesman put the blame on the South and demanded an apology. However, South Korean President Lee Myung-Bak has appealed for the continuation of stalled reconciliation talks, an offer dismissed by the North in state media as being "not worthy of even the slightest notice". The North has also rebuffed Seoul's offers of food aid despite serious food shortages this year.
