German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier has confirmed the kidnapping of two German citizens in Nigeria.
He told reporters in Berlin that the two men were employed by a German construction company that has been active in Nigeria for many years. They were kidnapped on Friday by gunmen who stormed a compound run by an affiliate of the German firm.
