The United States has signed a missile defence treaty with the Czech Republic.
Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice signed the agreement with her Czech counterpart Karel Schwarzenberg in the Czech capital. The United States is also trying to close a deal with Poland to base a number of interceptor rockets as part of the system.
