Bush meets ally Sarkozy in Paris ... the first time on the fringes of the G8 summit in Japan, Medvedev said pointed out that the two countries agreed on matters pertaining to Iran and North Korea. The Russian leader, who took office in May, is also set to meet with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, French President Nicolas Sarkozy and British Prime Minister Gordon Brown on the sidelines of the summit.
