US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has met with President Hu Jintao and Prime Minister Wen Jiabao on the final day of her 48-hour visit to China.
Following the talks in Beijing, Rice praised China for its role in obtaining an agreement in six-party talks that has seen North Korea begin to dismantle its nuclear weapons programme. However she also said that the two countries still had differences over a number of issues, including human rights. And she called on China, which holds the power of veto on the United Nations Security Council, to back tougher sanctions on Zimbabwe, when it meets later in the week.
