The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Louise Arbour, is resigning this Monday.
The 61-year-old Canadian justice announced in March that she wouldn't renew her four-year mandate due to personal reasons. During her period in office Arbour released damning reports on countries ranging from Zimbabwe to the United States. Human rights groups have congratulated Arbour for having doubled her office's budget, allowing new field bureaus to be opened in several countries.
