Bush and his First Lady Laura have started the second day of a 48-hour visit to Israel by touring the ancient fortress of Masada. The Roman-era fortress is famous for where a group of Jewish men, women, and children committed suicide rather than surrender to Roman forces. Bush is to later address the Israeli parliament, the Knesset, on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the country. The president's visit was marred on Wednesday by violence from the Gaza Strip.
