Taliban militants have attacked a military parade attended by Afghan President Hamid Karzai in Kabul.
At least one person was killed and 11 others injured after militants fired into a crowd of dignitaries on a stage during a celebration to mark the 16th anniversary of the expulsion of Russian forces from Kabul. Dutch NATO commander's son killed in Afghanistan ... television and said that security forces had foiled the attack and that several suspects had been arrested. A spokesman for the Taliban has claimed responsibility for the attack. He told reporters that the attack did not directly target Karzai, but was designed to show that the Taliban was capable of striking high-profile targets.
