Turkish military sources say that Turkish warplanes have struck Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) targets inside northern Iraq. Turkish soldiers reportedly also targeted the rebel positions from the ground.
No casualties were reported in Saturday's attacks. Ankara considers the PKK a terrorist organisation and claims it uses northern Iraq as a base to launch attacks against targets inside Turkey. The Turkish government has a one-year parliamentary authorisation, which expires in October, for raids across the border.
