Mario Uribe made the request after Colombia's chief prosecutor announced an arrest warrant for the ex-senator. Mario Uribe is being sought for alleged links to far-right paramilitaries and irregular property transactions. Sources close to the politician had said earlier that he was getting ready to turn himself in to Colombian authorities.
