French far-right leader sentenced ... presidency did not intend to invite the Dalai Lama to the council meeting of EU foreign ministers in Brussels. French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner had proposed the meeting subject to approval by the EU presidency. Meanwhile hundreds of Chinese citizens have protested in Beijing and other Chinese cities against France's attitude towards Tibet and the Olympic Games. There were also brief protests outside the French embassy .
