Andy Murray saw off Frenchman Nicolas Mahut 7-5 7-6 (7-5) and will now play Paul-Henri Mathieu in the Open 13 semi-finals at 1300 GMT in Marseille.
Murray, the fourth seed, broke Mahut for the first time to clinch the first set and served impeccably throughout.
Mahut, the world number 44, saved two match points at 4-5 in the second set before Murray won the tie-break.
"I served a lot better than in my last two matches. It's an area I've worked a lot on since Australia," said Murray.
