Possible presidential candidate unknown to half of Czechs ... after speculations about possible obstructions were heard in the corridors, the ODS decided not to be opposed to a public vote.
According to the immediate balance of forces in parliament, Klaus has greater chances to be elected.
He will be also supported by deputy Evzen Snitily who was expelled from the CSSD deputy group for his decision today.
Some independent senators, of whom it was not sure how they will vote, have also promised support to Klaus, and Klaus can also count with the votes of a part of the junior government Christian Democrat (KDU-CSL) lawmakers.
Klaus is sure of all 81 ODS deputies and 41 senators.
