The history of the hotel
The present appearance of the hotel's building originated through the reconstruction of two spa houses - The Excelsior and The English Courtyard (Anglický Dvůr). After uniting these two historical buildings, a hotel complex with a high standard came into existence. All interesting architectonic elements were preserved during the reconstruction.

The location of the hotel
The spa hotel Excelsior, graded with three stars, is located in the heart of the spa near the most famous spring of Karlovy Vary (Vřídla) and other healing mineral springs. The location of the hotel is ideal, with a view of the beautiful architecture of other spa houses.

Accommodation is provided in single, double and three-bed rooms and in premium apartments. They are equipped with a satellite television, a direct dial phone and access to the Internet, as well as with a bathroom provided with a pearl bath or a shower bath. We will also welcome your four-legged pets that you bring with you. On demand, it is possible to install a cot.

Room Equipment
By standard, all rooms are equipped with bathrooms, toilets, direct dial phones, connection to the Internet, TV sets with satellite channels with a possibility of channel selection at your own choice and radio broadcasting.

Rooms are situated in the rest zone with a view of spa architecture or of the atrium. Beds can be arranged as a twin bed or a double bed by request of the guests.

Accommodation prices include breakfast in the shape of a buffet. The prices are uniform for both foreigners and natives. Stay of a dog at the hotel is free of charge. Stay of children is free of charge only unless a bed is required for them. The accommodation prices do not include a possible phone bill.

A hotel reception service offers a wide scale of services. We will secure plane-ticket booking and entrance admission to the spa zone. We will order theatre and concert hall tickets for your entertainment trips. If you prefer sightseeing in Karlovy Vary, we will secure sightseeing tours and a qualified guide at your demand. For lovers of true adventure we prepared trips on a horseback or joy flights. The reception staff will meet all your requests or special wishes.

Secretarial Services
If you need to have your message copied, a fax sent or a letter rewritten, our secretarial services are always available. We shall arrange copying materials, rewriting messages and sending faxes in a couple of minutes. We will secure translating service and e-mail box services. If you prefer privacy, you can use the Internet connection from your hotel room.

Car Rental
You can enjoy beauty of the Karlovy Vary environment better if you use an opportunity to rent a car, which will be available exactly by your demands and wishes. E.g. weekend tours of Western-Bohemian spas and historic landmarks of the Czech Republic are very popular. If you do not own a driving license, you can rent a car with a professional driver skilled in foreign languages.

In the course of spa treatment, a patient undergoes entrance, check and final medical examinations. An attending spa doctor specifies a treatment method, drinking cure, laboratory examinations, procedures, dietary alimentation, and possibly other medical consultations with specialists. At the end of therapeutic stay, a patient receives a final medical report. Please do not forget to take an up-to-date examination record by your family doctor.

Dietary Alimentation

Breakfasts are served in a shape of a buffet, for lunch and dinner you can choose out of several meals with each diet, further salad and fruit buffet.

At our French-style restaurant, both typical meals of Czech cuisine and meals of international cuisines are served.
Lobby bar offers relaxation in the pleasant environment and a choice of untraditional desserts and mixed drinks.
On demand, we will arrange celebrations of various anniversaries, weddings, bashes, ceremonial dinners, cocktail parties, etc.

Spare Time
In your spare time you can make various trips to the surroundings of Karlovy Vary. Guests can visit Mariánské Lázně and Františkovy Lázně, a medieval town of Loket, Teplá monastery, a castle of Bečov, SOOS national reserve, world-known Moser glassworks and Becher liquor producer. Joy flights can be booked at the nearby airport.

Lovers of classical music will certainly be delighted by regular concerts organized by Carlsbad Symphony Orchestra at the Antonín Dvořák concert hall in the building of Spa III.
A reconstructed Town Theatre, built by Vienna architects in 1886, is worth visiting.
In the town you can find two big casinos. All horse race lovers will get their money worth, as well as silver screen experts, as Karlovy Vary is a host of International Film Festivals.

Sport
Our guests can play golf at the most beautiful golf course in the Czech Republic, only 15 minutes by car from the hotel. The 18-hole international golf course in Karlovy Vary was built in 1933 and it is situated in a picturesque landscape of the Krušné hory foothills. It is 6,226 m long and par 72.

In Karlovy Vary there are tennis courts and a tennis hall. The town's beautiful surroundings provide many opportunities for riding a bike and a horse. The paths in the surrounding spa woods differ in length and they carry tourist marking. We will be glad to arrange a fishing permit for our guests.
